The team
The LuaTeX team is:
- Hans Hagen : general overview, lua coding, website, status reports, reference manual
- Hartmut Henkel : pdf backend, experimental features
- Taco Hoekwater : pascal and c coding, code base management, reference manual
- Luigi Scarso : c coding, luajit, code base management, library infrastructure
LuaTeX merges and builds upon (parts of) the code from these projects:
- tex : Donald Knuth
- etex : Peter Breitenlohner, Phil Taylor and friends
- omega : John Plaice and Yannis Haralambous
- aleph : Giuseppe Bilotta
- pdftex : Han The Thanh and friends
- kpathsea : Karl Berry, Olaf Weber and others
- lua : Roberto Ierusalimschy, Waldemar Celes and Luiz Henrique de Figueiredo
- metapost : John Hobby, Taco Hoekwater and friends
- poppler : Derek Noonburg, Kristian Hogsberg (partial)
- fontforge : George Williams (partial)
- luajit : Mike Pall (used in LuajitTeX)
The code is synchronized with TeXLive and each year we release what we call a stable version. In between we can release beta versions and so far we always released one around the fall ConTeXt meeting.
The sources are in a GIT repository provided by Fabrice Popineau of Supelec. Whenever we push an (intermediate) update LuaTeX and LuajitTeX are compiled using the buildbot managed by Mojca Miklavec from where then may end up in the ConTeXt garden distribution.
